Hi, I’m Ben and I cover Scotland.
I have been in the motor trade since 2015 and I love this industry, no two days are the same, and no two people are the same. Having previously used Connected in my dealership, I jumped at the opportunity to join this fantastic team.
I joined the motor trade in 2015 with the main dealer for Mazda, selling new and used cars as a trainee sales executive. I quickly excelled in this role by providing customers with an honest and transparent sales service, and I was made Sales Manager within a 4 year period, where I managed the dealership to be one of the top performers in the UK for Customer Satisfaction with Mazda.
After this, I joined an independent dealer doing everything from valeting to stock purchasing, this role opened my eyes to the wider world of the motor trade and got to meet some fantastic people within the industry, this is also where I was introduced to Connected Car Finance and Jamie Stewart along with the benefits they brought to the dealership.
Having previously dealt with CCF and Jamie, when this opportunity arose to join the team supporting dealers in Scotland I jumped at the chance as I knew first-hand the excellent service and products they provide the independent dealer market.
This is now my 2nd role and 2nd year working in the field for a finance company and I love this job. I love meeting new dealers and I always offer support with anything they may need, whether it’s support from a finance aspect or just a chat about the weather as we love to do in Scotland!
Outside of work, I love taking part in sports, any sport! Football, rugby, rock climbing and cycling. I have probably attempted most sports, as my fiancée Erin loves to say, I am the guy with all the gear and no idea! I play rugby for my local team, Bannockburn and I recently lent my number 12 shirt to a childhood hero, Mike Tindall for a charity game (I didn’t play due to injury).
Family is so important to me, Erin and I have two children, our firstborn Willow who is 2 going on 20 given all her recent dramatics and my mini-me, Bodhi who not only inherited my looks, but he inherited my restlessness – he just can’t sit still! The final piece of our crazy little family is my golden boy Shadow.
He follows me everywhere. Together we have climbed 12 out of 282 Munros (so not many to go) and in March 2020 he ran every step of 125km with me throughout the month to raise money for Alzheimer’s Research UK.
